Litre(L) (or Liter) is one of the common units of measuring volume of a substance. It is not defined as the SI unit by the International Bureau of Weights and Measures. 1 Litre is equal to 1 dm3. A cubic decimetre (or litre) occupies a volume of 10×10×10 centimetres (see figure) and is thus equal to one-thousandth of a cubic metre.
